What do you think are some of the most interesting modeling tools you've seen in the packages you work with? My vote would probably be geometry paint, located in truespace. It lets you paint an untold number of copies of a selected model right onto another model, textures and all, with the option of size and rotation variants. The runner up is the "depth paint" features of Zbrush, a which is an extemely original idea to look at modelling.

By far my favorite modelling toolset is the subdivision surface module in Amorphium --being ostensibly a consumer "toy", they call Sub-D "tin". Three tear off strips, one for vertex ops, one for edge ops and one for poly ops. Its so simple, but its so much nicer than LW and Max. . .

Not a modelling tool, but my favorite materials editor --by far-- is Bryce's Deep Texture Editor.

I like LW's layer system the best-- simple, intuitive, powerful.
