View Full Version : decent graphic card for normal mapping
the_zed_axis 08-10-2004, 01:10 AM sorry if the title came out wrong but i would like to get into normal mapping and i am unsure of which graphic card to buy. I use both max and maya and currnetly running on a radeon 9000 (i know realllll old). In terms of a budget i would like a medium priced card in the lines of the 9600 but i am not sure if that is directx 9 capable.
anyone care to help

as far as i know, normal mapping doesn't have anything to do with old or new graphics card since 3D softwares translates the normal map's RGB value to your rendered image
my friend is using Radeon 9600 Pro and yes it is directX 9 capable
