This is my first post ever, came across this site today, this site is fantastic. I have working in 3D for a while now, but haven't really been showing my work very much, I do most of my work in Truespace which so far has worked out for me.

Please feel free to comment, I always look forward to what others have to say as it always results in improvements.

maybe you should ad a slight wood texture to the toys themselves.......you know like take a wooden texture and then add color to it....it would be more convincing then perhaps apply a bump map to give it surface...looks cool though

That's a great idea, you know I didn't even think of it, when I was getting ready to texture all the models I applied different colors to the objects to simplify the texturing process and actually liked the way it looked and left it, but maybe I should try what you suggest.

Thanks

Yeah, I agree, add a bump to it for a surface and probably a spec map to it also. Right now it looks kinda like the playskool plastic surfaces. Besides that it looks good, a bit dark but still good.

Perhaps adding some stain and dirt would make them look more "real" if thats what you are aiming for...
Right now, they seem a little bit plastic as someone mentioned earlier, but other than that, i think its a great job :)

DOF can look nice, but I think you need to relax it here. It is too strong and it taking away more from the shot than it is adding.
