View Full Version : premiere & vegas?
paconavarro 08-05-2004, 07:17 PM We have an editing station that is working under Premiere 6.5, and we are having many problems with it, we are wondering if its possible to have installed in the same station sonic foundry´s Vegas, without having conflicts between the 2 softwares, or specific drivers...
Tnks for your time.

I have Premiere 6 and Vegas 3 on my home studio machine. Has Windows 2000 professional as the OS. It's been working fine for the past year - had Vegas installed in late 2002, prior to installing Premiere. And had to reinstall both after my harddrive died (unrelated issue) in 2003. They both work fine at the moment. I have an NVidia GeForce2 GTS display card.
Recently installed Pinnacle Studio so that I can use a new video capture card I installed. And both programs still work fine. The old capture card that came with my Dell machine only works with ME operating system (can't stand ME....caused me so many problems with alot of my graphics software).
Have to admit, I don't push either software so much - most of my work is with Photoshop and Illustrator, and more recently Max and Lightwave. Mainly use the vegas/premiere programs to do schoolwork (I've just recently completed my "continued education") or get my work to tape.
Based on other software conflicts I've had in the past, it sounds like you may have a driver issue as you suggested. Anyways, I'd suggest checking the Adobe technical issues forums. They've proven very helpful to me in the past with other problems.

I edit with Vegas 5. Just finished editing a feature film with it on WinXP. It's a very stable NLE. And yes you can have an installation of Vegas and Premiere on the same system. I have in the past. But discovered I never used Premiere since I preferred the Vegas setup better.
