My copy of Messiah has finally arrived! I'm diving in - but smacked up against my first problem. I've got a character I modelled in Lighwave with subD's. First thing I did after installing Messiah was pull this guy in to try autorig, but it shows without subdivision. I press TAB and it disappears completely! What stupid thing am I doing? or not doing?

Take a look at your mesh in LW modeler, probably you have 5 sides polygons, or 2 sides, by selecting Polygons mode-->than W (polygon statistics).
As the Subpatches mode accept only 3 or 4 sides polygons.

Also, if you have stray vertices, it will cause your object to "implode". :)

Thanks Pheno, that was it. Strange that Messiah doesnt give some sort of error message about this. The object just disappears? Thats not very user friendly is it? Is this what I have to look forward to? Scary..

Is this what I have to look forward to? Scary.. Things are usually a bit scary when you're new at it. You should soon settle in and get the hang of it.:)
