This one was a real challenge for me because I suck at backgrounds... ...I just can't picture their elements the way I can those of figures or vehicles.

Made with Painter 7, as always, and took about an hour to complete (dang I'm slow!)

Drumwhore - that's out of this world. If you'd be so kind, what brushes did you use?
Dargon - Great silohette (oh man, definitely can't spell that word), love it
Mathew_er - nice first post, love the look of the flame
acc9340 - welcome to CGTalk! (I haven't seen your previous 4 posts). I'm actually from Ithaca. Cold, rainy, wet, miserable Upstate New York - represent.

Supervlieg - I like it. You did a nice job on your perspective.
drawMonger - I really like the etch style. Hehee, I did a research paper on the Great Fire of London in 1666 once.
Goblin King - Her neck and stuff could use a bit more shading, but I really like the hair.
Dargon - Well ya stole my first idea =p. I love it. Oh what I wouldn't give for a tablet...
made in uterus - Simple, but nice. I hope that guy doesn't live near me...
MustardWash - Good job. I especially like the hole.
acc9340 - Nice shading on the man. I certainly can't draw hands that well. Though I wonder what he's looking at.
Drumwhore - Very pretty. I especially love the clouds in the top left, and the bomb planes are a nice touch : ).
Frenkie - Nice first post. Makes me think of an oil fire on water.
andrewley - Yay another first sketch. I like your colors, man, and the little dude standing off to the right.
majofo - I like that idea. Nice job.
mathew_er - Very nice : ). Good job on your flames.
PaemrI - Nice job. I'm a bit jealous 'cuz I'm horrible at drawing people.
Russell_Collins - I really like it. The flames feel very big.
DreamMaster - For some reason, one of those objects looks like a fly to me... and that made me laugh. I dunno, maybe I'm just crazy O : ). I like your tornado and bright colors.
Flatuloso - Looks good to me. Maybe you could've added a piece of ground and made him have a shadow? Dunno if that would've helped your little man not be such a jerk.
Gremlin - Man that's nasty. Good job comin up with somethin original.
Rasdasa - I like your fire very much. It looks like he's fighting an ice storm.
Augustin[e_CZ - Nice job. I like the noisy sky.
killian - Cool dragon, man; and... if you didn't use a 'premade grass blade brush' (dunno what else to call it, but I guess you know what I mean - one that makes it like copy 'n paste), then please tell me how you did your grass. I like it very much, and for some reason, though I've tried, I can't seem to make mine look like that. Maybe it's 'cuz mice aren't pressure sensitive.
I hope I didn't miss anyone. Good job, all, and thanks Augustin[e_CZ : ).

"Storm, you're fired."
I decided that Professor X should fire Storm because he's got way better hair than Donald Trump. PS & wacom, don't know how long. Fell asleep half way through.

MVP -- "You can't fire me, you're just paper!!" Nicely done.
captain chapo -- Thanks, glad you liked it. I started doing a really boring, flat looking layout, but in my dream they were talking to each other in this split screen format. Dreams rock!:buttrock:

Andyman, thank you for your kind words!!
Franz, your sketches are inspirational!!
I was away from home so I decided to sketch on paper.
Well, with the only ballpen i have, insteat of drawing fires, I designed this character and named him the title, Firestorm.

1hr Artrage/Wacom
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v220/kieronh/DSG/firestorm.jpg
Added some more contrast on the final picture I think it helped in the end, started putting my colours down 1st in the top corner as you can pick colours now with artrage. Found it tricky to get the depth right.
Drumwhore - excellent, love the sky & the little trails
Franz - very nice quality of light on this one, did you build up thin layers of strokes?
Mr.T - real nice - like the strokes & the quality of the fire
dck - hehe cool, are the stains on the background from a photo or something?
Cheers,
Kieron

Kieronh - I havent done too many of those quick sketches, so Im still trying to figure a decent workflow. All I can say is that I start at the horizont and then work my way to the front.
Interesting style you are pushing there. looks like a real painting.
