Hi , is it possible for me to do my setup and aniamtion on a low res poly model
then after all is done , smooth it over ? I did a little test and it seemed to work as long as the polysmooth node was put in last

any thoughts?
thanks

in the normal case it's very easy done. if you work with this CPS you have two seperate pieces of geo. the proxy and the smoothed one. the proxy drives the smooth one. so you can build up your setup on the proxy and then the proxy drives just the normal way the smoothed. the same way it is with maya's subdivs. then you can assign the proxy and the smoothed (or subd) to a separate display layer and switch it on/off just like you wanna do.

if you don't work that way with subd or cps then it's more work. so if you have a patch modeled nurbs for instance. you can do the setup just the normal way on the nurbs surfaces. for a low res you can convert the patches to very low res poly. these poly surfaces you can either bind or just parent to the joints of your setup. now you have something you can animate with very fast and the hires nurbs for rendering and fine tuning animation.

hope it doesn't sound like chinese :)
