Will poly modelling plugins work in max 5? I've seen max 5 tools and they are nice, but I still like the tools that I get with plugins.

dvornik, meshtools, and CSpolytools are pretty much included in the standard max toolset, I'm pretty sure every feature of those 2 scripts is represented

Max5 is based on the same core code as MAX4 so all MAX4 plugins and scripts "should" work in MAX5.

However new scripts, and plugins written for MAX5 will probably only work there.

the max5 meshtools suck! :annoyed:

bute every plugin will work, so you don't have to wait for newer versions

Neox, can you explain why they "suck" for those of us still working in version 4.26? I'd like to hear facts as opposed to opinion. =)
I had read that the tools were pretty much identical to the scripts we currently use.

I've only seen a beta version. I wouldn't say they suck. I think they are great. And a working cut tool is a significant advance in itself.

It's just certain thigs worked faster with plugins. Some tools are missing like move along normals or move the loop towards the next loop. Plus, I just like using the MT toolbar.

I still wish there was a way in max to transform subobject relative to another subobject. Like rotate polys around a selected vertice. Or is there a way?

come on, two different buttons to connect vertices and edges ???
that slows down, i have to think about what i'm willing to connect, the main time i'm just clicking connect, nothing else, i don't want to think about what i'm doin, i'm just doin it...
a good thing is that you can connect as often as you will, not only 3 time like with meshtools

hmmm the maxe5 rotate and scale gizmos aren't my thing too, the rotate gizme is ugly as hell, if i wanted to work with maya, i would do... but you can set this gizmo to the old one in max... but the cale gizma is always switching to your view that sucks! if your wotching from top or bottom on your object, the scale gizmo is always rotating and that is....
