I posted this as a response to a post in General Discussion, but I think it belongs here, with a decent title too.

It's just another way of doing it.

Feel free to modify the actions to your heart's content.

Just thought I'd add - my photoshop action TIPS button recommends you use 15 pixel vector line... you should use something more like 2.5 to 3 pixels for DV footage (720x576)

If you open the macro in Actions palette, you can adjust the blurs by double-clicking on that step and choosing a new value. Be sure to have a dummy image loaded before you double click, otherwise Photoshop will bring up an error saying that the command is not available.
