hi

I have 2 promlems with Surface editor of Lightwave 8.
1. When i try to create a new material nothing happens , in the Surface editor , under Surface name , i try to copy and paste materials but , nothing.
2. After i created an UV map of an object , textured tham and placed on the objact, in the
Modeler everithing looks fine, but when i send the object to Layout , the UV map is not displayed , when i open the surface editor in the Layout the UVmap is there but the object is diplaied with the default grey color.

I'm not sure I understand the first question, but if you want to create a new surface, you can't copy/paste in the Surface Editor; you can only paste onto an existing surface. To create a new surface, select some polys and click the surface button on the bottom edge of the interface. The shortcut is q.

To see your textured UV map in Layout, make sure the viewport is set to textured shaded, and in the Scene Editor, make sure the object is set to textured shaded (click in the column under the eye icon).

Thnx a lot , for the help about the Surface editor, i have to UV map a couple of models on different layers in the same model file , and after that merge them in one model.

The problem about displaing of UV maps in the Layout happens in the version 8 of Lightwave , but the 7,5 version of Lightwave is working just fine.
