i have a question about sub-d surfaces. when i convert a polygon object with color information to a subdivision surface, all the faces convert to grey(intial materialSG). is there anyway to retain the original materials from the polygons? sure would make life a lot easier. i'm just interested in basic color of faces right now. no complex UV mapping.
