View Full Version : RLA From 3DMax and AE Depth of Field

Heya

I've tried exporting .RLA's from 3DMax and have managed to get it right in the past but some some reason my problem seems to be very intermmitent lately.

I managed to get a background scene in, and got the DOF to gradually increase as the depth did in a nice gradient. But after opening the same project awhile later it forgot about the gradient and just displays a uniform blur across the whole image. I have tried tweaking the settings, I've even tried "3D Channel Extract" etc to no avail.

Now it seems that nothing is working. I cant even get the Depth Matte or object ID's etc to work. My RLA's are 8 bit with everything ticked "Z-Buffer , Coverage etc".
Any ideas ?

Not sure, but why 8-Bit why not 16-bit (AE uses 16bit), and why .rla as opposed to .rpf?
