CGTalk - Hotkey to exit dropdowns?

View Full Version : Hotkey to exit dropdowns?

I'm using the Brush Tool, and I mouse over to the Painting Mode dropdown (normal, dissolve, etc). Once I set it, it seems I have to click on the Brush Tool in the main palette again in order to use Brush hotkeys again (like [ and ] and the number keys). The dropdown stays highlighted until I do so, rendering my hotkeys useless.

Is there a hotkey for getting the focus off of these dropdowns?

when in doubt hit the Esc key.
that's what I do for just about anything.
