They're still WIP and I'm tweaking them now. Bodies go on them starting this weekend.

Looking good--nice loops. Interesting that you've used three different topologies. Isn't that a lot of extra work instead of using one base mesh for all the characters?
It's a little hard to tell from the angles posted, but it seems like the ears might be too far back on the head.

Yeah, but it helps me keep my skills in check. Plus, there are also some disadvantages to working from base mesh. These only represent several days worth of work anyway. I'm not too worried about the extra time. Thankfully, I'm a very quick worker. :)
It's a little hard to tell from the angles posted, but it seems like the ears might be too far back on the head. Ears set just right. It's the angles & the distortion afforded by the default camera.

True, it is good to get your hands dirty now and then. I'd been using a base mesh I liked for all my recent heads, but when I recently decided to do a new one from scratch I found my modeling skills had gotten quite rusty. Didn't take too long to get back in the flow (pun intended) though.

crackin stuff bud...you've been a busy bunny then,by the looks of it.
(my only crit and not sure if its valid really..so totally up for debate on it bud...but i feel on the first two heads the face shape feels to oval/almond shaped...slightly thin/long on top part...but like i say debateable)
anyways bud...looking forward to your progress...just the wips are well presented so i guess when you really start hammering it...it'll look v nice. keep up the good work...think you're nuts doing 3 topologies but always love to see a challenge..so much respect..heh heh.

A large part of that head shape thing is that they're actually based on real people. That's just their respective head shapes. :) Not everybody can be shaped like a Poser model. ;) I've never really been a huge fan of so-called "perfect CG people" anyway. Done to death, imho.
It's funny how much fuss is made over 3 different topologies. As a personal project, I've got all the time in the world. Each of these WIPs took only a day and a half of my spare time. That might be a lot of time for some people, but that's quick for me.

hey bud...i can't tell you how much in agreement with you on the perfect cg person...a personal pet hate of mine...i think things are changing though...you want to see some stuff posted on bodies...these vary more than heads...but everybody crits as if it should always look like a supermodel!!! heh heh.

The "supermodels" for these characters are (from top to bottom) my brother, my sister, & myself. Not so super, eh?
