hi i could really use some help right now.. ive read the books and asked in irc but i cant get this working.. now i was at siggrapph and caught the end of a tips demo... but i can't get it working by myself since i didnt see the beginning.
i have a complex chain object modeled.. like this > 0-0-0-0 you know with like a metal chain.. anyway i want to position this but doing it manually would take a really long time.. so i drew a spline and want to deform the object along the spline.. but everytime i do.. it gets all messed up ... i try changing the axis and rotating but it doesnt help.. anyone point me to a tut or know how to do this?

is it possible to post a picture of what you mean by 'messed up'? is the chain one object or multiple objects? I'm assuming you are using the path deform modifier, have you tried creeating a path deform binding with the path deform World Space Modifier instead?

in your drop down modifier list there is a section for world space modifiers. These all have a * before the name, & they always appear last on the stack. I always use the path deform wsm, mainly cos its got a 'move to path' button! :)
