CGTalk - Color Difference

I am trying to figure out why my color changes when i take photage from one machine..use it in AE on another machine..render out the file and import it back into the first machine (original) ..the footage gets darker. I am using motion jpeg b. Can someone tell me why??

i have gotten back footage from other people that was worked on and rendered out with motion jpeg b and it looks like the original. just dunno why it gets darker when worked on using my computer.

is it my video card??

Color setting for my computer??

Dunno if it'll help, but motion jpeg is a lossy format and you might be losing color/pixel information during the compression. Try exporting your footage as uncompressed (e.g. using quicktime "animation" codec) while you're working.

Dunno about about AE having a color/gamma setting.

-- I know jpeg is lossy but i have seen footage come back looking the same with motion jpeg..no color difference.
