HI!
Here is a link to a test I made. http://mysite.verizon.net/res8j0od/
It is just a simple sphere as a light and FG turned on. You will see two planes. One with a darker and nicer FG shadow is a little bit hight then the right one. I know that I can bring the artifacts down by increasing FG rays and try different radius. But why when objects are loser to each other the artifacts show up more. The reason I am bringing it up is that I am rendering a glass product. One thing I noticed is that if the glass is very tight close to another material it will be darker and will have some spotted artifacts. I don't know how many rays do you guys usually use to render, but I can not go more then 3000 FG rays and sometimes no matter how much time I spent with FG radius I will still get artifacts in the places where objects or part of the objects are close to each other. I do a lot of product renderings and is shows up the most in the parting lines.
Thank you!
