View Full Version : Redistributing objects / Object spacing

Hey all,

Does anyone know of a way to move a group of objects closer together or further apart while retaining their relative positions?

When you are working in the Symmetry mode, if you select a poly (and the matching poly on the opposite side is selected), you can use the Move tool in the Back window to push them apart or pull them together.

I'm looking to do the same thing, not with polys, but entire objects.

Any ideas? :shrug:

with an expression you could.
don't have the math knob to really explain, but it would be possible with expressions

parent all objects to a null.
Scale the null.
scale the objects 1/scale(null)

That works.

apply this expression to all scale channels for the objects:

1 / [Null.Scale.X]

works for me. Now you only have to scale the null everything is parented to.
