hi i wanted ti ask if there is anyway to exlude an object from being affected by hypernurbs, like a tag or something, I wanted only selected items to be affected by hypernurbs in the hiarchy
Then dont put items you to remain as they are, inside the hypernurbs?

Apply a HyperNURBS weight tag. Check 'change subdivision', and set both editor and render subdiv to 0 (that's 'zero')

I may be wrong but stop tag seems to stop all modifiers - like symmetry for instance. Sometimes you just want to stop subdivision.

then add a null put the stop tag on that put a symmetry under the null and your object under that, if you want to be effected buy the symmetry but not buy a HN higher up in the hierarchy, at least that's how I do it

Oi, smeghead! :D
HN weight tags are less messy since you get full control without having to fiddle around with the hierarchy.
