OK well here is my first quick scribbles. I'll get to making more detailed designs for her gear this coming weekend.

Think Zulu trible warriors :)
but female and mixed with an African king cobra hehe

Update on the model.
Did not get as far as i wanted to tonight. Ended up drinking lotsa beers and talking late with my friends. but got in a good 2 hours or so modeling.

She is now at 1042 polygones.
I am aiming for 2500
then i can use the rest for her weapons and extra garments. The mesh flow on her is a start but turning out realy nice.
I Should be finishing the model tomorrow for sure.

oooh, slick :). The model looks really good so far. Though the tail seems a bit too short. It doesnt seem like it could support the body with ease. But, it might just be the perspective.
Other then that, great job.

Hmm... yeah, maybe the tail could be quite a bit longer... :shrug:

Ok she is at a 2016 polygon count at the moment. I extended the tail alot. think I'll make it even longer.

I'm making the neck/head look more like the very first sketch i did "topright bust" where the crest extend from the shoulders instead of it coming from the back like in the profile shot. I want her to be able to fold the crest back to normal so it makes more sense and will just look better. I should have that and the hands modeled in my next update.

Overall I think you will like how her back turned out :)
as for the outfit, still designing that. I'll see about getting some sketched up this next week.

it looks nice, good poly flow, but one thing, isnt the competitions limit 3500 TRIANGLES, not quads? please explain i fyou will normal map or how you wil solve this. or maybe im wrong, nbut im pretty sure its triangles

Really excellent - the mesh flow is perfect - especially on the shoulders and back.
However, i think its a bit high poly right now. There are bits that could possibly be optimised without compromising the mesh.
I love the head / mouth!
Hope you can finish this in time.

"Neil" Yes her mouth will be able to open, along with the fangs being able to fold back in :)

"yeluis" Yes it is Triangles and the count is now at 2016. I just keep them in quads becuase it looks nice :)

"Andy H" yeah the mesh is realy turning out nice. The back area took some work but was worth the effort. As for optimizing I start doing that once the full mesh is completed. I dont plan to go past 2800 for her body/head. I want to have the other 700 polygons for her gear.

Maybe more if i realy get elaborate, depends on where i take here outfit design.

OK I got the head crest done and started with the inside of her mouth. Still trying to figure out the inside but should get it figured out and have the finished hands for my next update.

Ok well I got some time to finish her hands today. Things are going kinda slow with working on her for the moment. I'll try to have the outfit designed by end of this week though. For now just enjoy the pics hehe.

Yeah i will be rigging her. I already did alot of minor adjustments to the hand last night. but even in that pose it wont take me any extra time to rig.

This is one of my favorite entries. I love the subtleties in the anatomy of the torso and arms you have captured. One person mentioned he didn't like the topology of it. What is exactly meant by that.

I don't understand the benefit of doing the back differently. I understand that doing the breasts like that could lead to a more natural shape, but unless she's gonna end up bare-chested that won't really matter. Don't understand why you'd want to change the ribcage either.

I like the topology of the breasts just the way they are. But it really doesn't matter unless one method saves more polygons.

I do agree more with Imurpetii's placement of edges along her back. It suggests more bone structure such as shoulder blades that would be more prominent for women with good health and posture. A female back can be very sexy if you pay attention to it's shapes.

Unless he is planning on modeling a nipple I do not see any advantage to using a "radial" topology for the breast. I think he has captured a very natural breast shape (which it seems a lot of people have trouble doing) so nothing really needs to change there.

However, I do agree about the back. Instead of welding the edges together, I would continue the single row of quads that runs down her neck down to the small of her back, that way you can pull out a few vertices on the cenrtal line and push the verts on either side down slightly to get the suggestion of a spine below the skin. (especially at the top of the neck, and the lower back.)

I think your mesh is top-notch though. Keep up the good work and I can't wait to see what you do with the apparel and texture!

Yeah i am thinking of redoing her back. it be pretty quick to change a few things on it.
as for her breasts i dont think I'll touch anything. works realy well this way

But yes she will be bare chested int he final design with beads and all kinds of trible cloth on.
Africa tribes never cover there chest area. She will be dragged into Zbrush for a serious detailed pass. and i will only suggest the shape of nipples on the low polygone mesh and leave the rest up to the normal map

Very nice work!!! I salut you, though the tale could be a little more flexible (like snakes do), very nice breasts try to make big nipples couse african zulu women have big nipples (just for the history).
