Very nice!
Good to you here again, I love the detail and the sort of asian style...
The blue light may need some work though, the casting of it seems a bit unnatural on the character.
Great job... more more!

I like this a lot!!!! Beautiful! But I also agree that the light is too bright on the charector, the best and easiest way to fix this is too make the Blade it's self more bright, that would merit the extreem light on the charector.
My only other crtitique is, the Sward, it looks really plain and dull for such an awesome picture. You would expect some great Sward design in an image such as this. so the Sward is a little bit of a let down. But the Glowing factor is nice, but it does not make up for the lack of beauty in the handle.
But nun the less, great work my friend.

Absolutely beautiful painting Lunatique.
The only thing I have to ask is, it looks like he is holding a katana sword, with the asian look to it, so wouldn't it extrude further to the left behind him. Unless it's a short sword then nevermind.
Either way, it's just amazing, very well done
By the way, I love the detail of the vains on his arm.

Neil- Yeah, it was done in Painter 7 and Photoshop 7.
Pinky_Powers- Good points! I went ahead and made the blade brighter. I'm not going to change the design of the katana since the main focus of the piece is in the atmosphere. I have another piece in progress that's got kickass weapon designs though. :)
Blake Kehler- I added the sheathe in, as I had forgotten it!
Thanks for the positive feedback, everyone! :D

Id say you will need a wacompad. Check it out at :www.wacom.com
for serius work, go with the intuos2 A5, or perhaps u can find an old "white" intuos1 cheep somewhere, they are also good.
I would not buy the all to small graphire2 version.
hope that helps.

How much is the intuos2? I was on PriceWach, and one of the lowest i found was $177. Can this be right? That is pretty bad, I don't know when I will be able to aford on now. :(

mute_bear- I use the old white Intuos (6x9). You really should get a tablet. Even a Graphire is better than a mouse.
Pinky_Powers- Here's sneak preview of a painting that's giving me all kinds of headaches. . ..

The new painting is awsome so far.
I really like the guy sitting down in the middle and the elf girl standing to his right (our left). Mainly because of the great detail of the cracks and ware and tare on his armor, and the expression on her face.
There is something bugging me about the girl standing in the back, it's her head, or her neck. Just the way they connect or something. Maybe you could try and move the head to the right, then tilt it a little to the left, I don't know, sorry, I just can't seem to tell what's bugging me about it.
The only other critique I could find was the strap over the shoulder of the guy on the far right. It doesn't look like it's conforming to his shoulder, it just looks to flat.
I can't wait until this one is done
