View Full Version : Sketchup
onemind 07-21-2004, 01:21 PM Hi, I have been using sketchup for a while for architecture and I am trying to figure out how to export my models from sketchup to xsi. So far i am exporting them as .3ds and using the dotxsi plugin but it messes my models up. Does anyone here use sketchup successfuly with xsi?
Thanks for any help :)

I don't know the program Sketchup (never even heard of it). However, I do know that a program called Deep Exploration can convert across many formats with little (if any) problems.
Try it out, if you haven't yet. It's an extra step in your pipe, but if it works, it works.

Hi Onemind,
How are you going with SketchUp ? I'm thinking about getting a copy myself.
What file extensions can SketchUp export ?

Thanks for the heads up on Deep exploration :)
Hi tantoedge. Sketchup is good for quick models, it exports 3ds. I used the free 3ds import script to get the model into xsi. But, it works way better with 3ds max so i just use it with max. Sketchup to xsi is ok but not perfect.
