always find 'their' books a bit dry and boffin-like, but agreed it looks like it might be good, dvd offer sounds good too.

thanks Rock

I'm glad that they're releasing it with a high-valued DVD, instead of the "Modelling for Beginners" DVD (like the "Rendering/Animation/Dynamics etc for Beginners" DVDs included in their other Learning Maya 6 books). I've read through most of Foundation and Rendering, and though their series of books are a bit dry, I'm glad it's easy to follow and not filled with textbook-like verbosity.

Does anyone know if Maya Techniques | Modelling a Human Head is a good value?

Thanks. :)

Yes it's a good DVD. It's not worth the $120 though. I bought it when it was new, and they were charging a lot less for it. I was pretty surprised they upped the price so high. Not many people seem to model in nurbs as much anymore. It's a good + fast technique, and the nurbs head PDF is on the DVD for reference.
