I was testing the upcoming Blender 2.34 beta build and low and behold it imports\exports native Wings3d format files. Whoa. I didn't know this; there is also support for LWO and COB files too.
I know that Wings3d exports to Yafray and such. Blender opens the door to other options with Renderman compliant rendering just around the corner with SSS and more fun toys. But now you can render your files inside Blender too for easy HRDI rendering. I just wanted to tip this to some of you Wings3d users who want to try out Blender. Now is a better time than ever. Maybe this is of interest to some of you.
I gotta fire up Wings more often! I almost freaked out and thought that it wouldn't run on my setup. I had to manually create an erl.ini file in the bin dir. Whew that was a relief. It's running now.
Here is the link to the Beta Blender builds for the OS of your choice. The latest build will have these features and more....-

Have fun!
