Hello All! I'm a student at Sheridan College almost completing the Computer Animation course.

These are two characters for my student short film. I created the models with Maya 5.0 and the textures, I painted in Photoshop 7.0.

I will post my modeling reel very soon.

You can view my Sheridan Illustration portfolio at www.blueturtleart.com (http://www.blueturtleart.com/)

I love the turtle, but the frog looks quite stiff - Can't point my finger on it.

its awesome....but ...hey if u can blur the background in the frog image it will give it more depth and movement to the image ..as in render it out is passes ....I also think that there sould be some difference in the lighting of the ground ..thats way behind and to the scene thats closer to the camera ...
Awesome jobe jenni .....cant wait to c the short film.

You got two really cool characters here. My favourite is the turtle. Nothing really to crit.

I am looking forward to your animation.

Thanks for the great advice. I'll definately be rendering my animation in passes to get depth. And I'll work on the stiffness in the frog. Maybe more relaxed poses then.

Thank you for your comments!

Nice models there klumzygerl, its great to see more characters like these showing up rather than the same old generic things. I think they definitely have character although i think you could push their facial expressions to create more character.

Keep up the good work. I cant wait to see them animated.

Nice work! :)

There's something about the tortoise that don't seem quite right though. His shell looks a bit too shiny compared to his skin. How about painting a specular map or something to achieve more of a "wet look"?

hahaha for some reason when i see the frog i think of poochy from the simpsons and how we was suppose to be cool and hip but he was just stupid. hahaha

ooo wait.. im not saying your model is stupid, its actually pretty nice, but when i see him with the skate board i just think.. "poochy"

Honestly, what could I say? They look awesome. I like the tortoise more cos I like goofy characters. :bounce: Not that the frog is bad, just that it (I know you said it's supposed to be a he, but I still think it looks like a she...) doesn't appear to be of a certain characteristic...dunno if I'm making sense with that...hrm... Oh, anyhoo...keep it up and be seeing your animation real soon! :buttrock: :buttrock: :buttrock:

Beautiful. I can see the personnality(not sure I spelled that right) of the two characters without any animation. Well Presented.

Finally completed my animation! Enjoy!

The animation link is in the first post. Also I tried changing the title to Animation:Showoff but it wouldn't change. If a Mod could change it for me I'd appreciate it, thanks!
