View Full Version : Character : Pig
rolhionjs 07-19-2004, 11:37 AM Hi all,
here is my last modeling using Zbrush2. (Modeling, texturing, rendering)
I made this one without reference images. It was most of all to kill time.
I spent something like 8 hours from modeling to this final image.

Doesn't look much like a real pig, but still full of piggy goodness anyway ;) ...great character.

excellent modelling Strike, zbrush continues to amaze, must try it out one day ;p
textures are awesome, but one crit: I'm not sure that pigs have a thick leathery skin texture like the one you've given it. It would suit a elephant though.. but I'm no expert in piggies ;p
without references.. impressive.
The first time I like the way a pig looks..... how did you do the texture..?

boah, what an ugly pig!
HEHE, that's excellent strike! Since when are you using zbrush?
...damn, textures are kickass...
...hmm.. maybe some hair? Don't pigs have a little bit of hair on theyr backs? Not that I really know anything about pigs though...
Silce it open, and let us have some bacon!!!
Great job texuring and modeling!
Maybe some dirt near his jaw would be nice?
Most piggies have some dried up dirt under thier jaw after digging into the nice wet muddy area.

The texturing and modeling is so well done! Nice exaggeration in some parts. I give it an excellent rating! You're pretty quick at it too.
Great work! :D
mmmmmmmmm Bacon......
kewl pig dude, did you actually make all those wrinkles in zbrush?

If my assumption is correct, that's one hell of a displacement map. Awesome work.

you killed me.
but but...and and...... :banghead:
I've seen zbrush2, but I cannot "think" in the zbrush way....I'm still strictly bound to
Maya environment (or standard env).
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
but but...is it animable?? :)

Looking good! :)
Is the skin textures all made by hand?

Thanks all ! :)
To answer some questions, yes it's animable but i'm not animator :D . Anyway, here you'll find a small movie of wireframe and normal mapping under any application. (Thanks to Mat for helping render) here : http://www.designpicture.com/pig.htm
And yes, this mesh is fully modeled and detailed by hand under Zbrush2.

very nice job.
Zbrush is cool; though still I really want to see anyone animating with it successfully.

I like the model, but the bump map seem a little elephant like. I 've never seen a real pig without fur, so maybe they do look like elephant skin.
