I am having some problem setting up the neck and arms of my character in LW7.5 its a simple biped character. I use maya a lot at school, but am using LW at my internship. I would normally use a point constraint in Maya to i can rotate the neck and the head follows the end of the neck but doesn't pick up the rotation values from the neck. So i don't have to counter animate, but i can't seem to find something like that in LW.

My books say use IK in the neck, so i rigged it that way and yeeck i dont understand how you can animate like they asked to rig it. Character Animation book by Timothy Albee, Good book but i don't thnk the rig he does is what im looking for.

So my question is ..
1) Can i constrain the head to the end of the neck and rotate the neck with ot the head rotating?

or

2) what is a common rig setup you guys use for you neck?

i am confused.....

it sound like you want to just set up a simple FK hierarchy head to neck(<--parent). rotate neck head follows, but the head keeps its rotational values.

if you want to drive the head movement with the head bone like rotate the neck 15 degrees on heading, and have it also rotate the head bone 15 degrees on heading(or whatever axis) you would need a expression for that.

sorry if i just confused you....i am not to sure what you exactly want though.

Sorry Rabid if i didn't explain it clear enough, I just want to beable to rotate 'neck' and the 'head' will follow it anywhere it gos. But i want head to stay upright the whole time. Perty much it.
