Looks like somebody is working on a Free-bee right now. Might as well check it out.


maya Network Rendering 1.0a1

SEB is a software for network rendering with Alias Maya and mental ray (Maya version). Features include:
rendering over network,
job queue local and over network,
single frame split on more computer (only native Maya render for now),
user interface for all Maya settings,
render over network with mental ray for Maya.


Requirements:
Mac OS X 10.3 or later.

Unfortunately, SEB does not work with Maya 6 yet & never did work as a network rendering solution for Maya 5 on OSX. Only batch rendering on one CPU.

I Emailed them a few weeks ago to find out when their next version for OSX would be released & they told me this month. Hopefully it will be be the full deal. :deal:

You took the idea of emailing those guys right out of my mouth. Hopefully the new version will be out this month, ie July 2004. /me crossing fingers.

Hi there, I'm Marco Savini, I work on seb, nex release of seb for osx will be render for maya 6 and mental ray, on network....
But actually seb is in alpha phase...I work on seb out from my office...and time is not much...
:-(
I hope to finish seb until this month....
