i like the style they are using. much better then their 'realistic' look for Spirits Within. plus, i loved the storyline and charactes from FF7.

Third quarter of the year in Japan. No scheduled release date for other parts of the world.

Im just glad that its going back to otherworldly, imaginative settings and characters, and not the earth based, new york setting of the spirits within. I think that was the reason it didnt do too well - the games are famed for their imaginative settings, character design and plots, but the spirits within was just like 'Aliens' or something what with the dropships, big guns and tough marines.

although the top one has its merits (it was the best looking one out of the bunch IMNSHO), it still cant compete

yeh, pixar can step aside. You can't compare.
Although I've never been a FF fan (I hate FF7), those screenshots look nice. They really have that Square style.
