Hello, I can not find a tutorial or anything on how to make a movie clip iinteract with a TV screen that I am doing in a animation. I know it is possible but do not know how it is accomplished. I tried parenting, masking which is a horrible idea to make it like realistic without jaggyness. Does anyone have any input or a tutorial or help? Thank You.

What do you mean with "movie interacts with tv screen" ?

What does your movie show and what should be visible on the TV ?

My animation has TV's inside of it that just have a black screen.

I was wondering if I can put live footage inside of the screen so it appears that the TV is on when the animation is flowing.

Thanks

Ok, will you have any camera movements or other perspective changes in your animation.

If not, itīs easy. Take Your video(s), which should be displayed on the screen(s). Add a corner Pin FX (Only Pro ?), add a transition --> Jalousie FX for faking horizontal lines (set the completition to 40 %, donīt animate it). Now add a bit of glow (set color A-B to "own color"), if you have, try also trapcode shine.

If you have control over the animation you can change to color of the Tvs to generate a matte from that color. Choose a color that doesn't appear in other objects and there you go, the dream of a lot of compositors: full control over the source footage.
