Hi all....I'm pretty new to using Fusion (being forced to learn it for work), and I've got a question:

Say I have two elements, my beauty pass and a separate grayscale depth pass. How can I use the grayscale information in the depth pass to control the amount of blur applied to the beauty pass? Coming from an After Effects background, I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around this whole nodal workflow. Any tips or suggestions would be welcome.

use a channel boolean to copy the greyscale info into the z buffer of the beauty pass. Beauty pass goes into the brown arrow, and the greyscale goes into the green arrow. You'll have to go into the second tab of the channel boolean, and enable Aux channels. Then set the Z Channel to FG Luma.
