try restarting windows, and after that just open AAEfx and start rendering again. This usualy helps me.

I think that the problem comes from your input files, not from the output settings.


As i can see on the thumb, it stops when those 3 (?) layers are calculated. What are these files ? AFX gets problems when rendering Mpeg files or captured DV-Videos with dropped frames. Also bad image-formats could make problems (eg. progressive jpegs, animated gifs).

Try to render out just the sequence shortly before those layers start till the end. So you can find out eventual bad import-files.

Hey webster,
I am assembling my demo reel. I have a combination of some play blasts (uncompressed avi's) and 3 rendered out tif sequences. It stops at the point where there is a tiff sequence. If I render at a lower resolution it renders fine but at the hight res's it crashes. I only have tiff's for picture files.

try converting your TIFFs (What a bad idea for compositing sequence!) to PNG or atleast TGA uncompressd.

I figured out the problem I was using the playblasts from maya with the audio. I fixed the prob buy playblasting my animations at no compression and adding the audio in in AE.
