CGTalk - Extrude along path

When I extrude along a path for creating wires tubes ect, If the wire or tube is turning or twisting or just not going straight seems as if my wire doesnt stay round as a real wire would getting moved in any position. Im wondering what i can do to keep my wires staying round ect.
