View Full Version : Morphmixing questions.
minus 07-28-2002, 09:41 AM Alright... so I saw the streams @ Siggraph this year... and I really liked what I saw about Endomorphs.. -- I've not messed with em at all.
So I made a base character... and made some morphs in a sad and suprised state. I read the manual really quick on the subject and it seemed easy enough... I just apply the morphmixer under the deformations tab and have fun.
Well... my morphs are not mixing the way I thought they would. -- It doesn't seam to mix or pay attention to all of the things I moved in each different morph. -- Is this becase some parts were on different layers when I made morphed em? -- Or is something else going on here? -- Also... why aren't my sliders translucent?
Here is my base:

How do I use this thing? :)

Check your subdiv order... Must be on after morph or last.

Hmm.. just tried that.... well that was something that I needed to do.... but that didn't fix this problem though.:hmm:
Bedtime... maybe the answer will hit me in a dream. -- I actually did have a dream the other night about Aura 2.5 having awesome 2D motion blur. :) I dig it when I dream about modeling.. :)

How many morphs u have?
Can u poste the pic of each morph? Or poste the model...
May be u have mixed different morphs and one reach another?Bedtime... maybe the answer will hit me in a dream. -- I actually did have a dream the other night about Aura 2.5 having awesome 2D motion blur. I dig it when I dream about modeling..

different layers will bring problems. As each layer becomes a seperate object in layout. You will have to have morph mixer on each layer. So if your sad pose needs stuff moved on layer 1 and 2, you have to have morphmixer on both layers in layout, and you have to move the sliders the same, or tie them together with an expression.
Translucent sliders are custome objects, read up on how to use them here:

Thanks guys.... :) Going by what you all are saying... it looks like I'm doing things correctly... it's just that I'm running into problems because of my layers. -- I'll build another guy tonight... and keep him in one layer and see how the morphs behave. -- If I have the same issues with that character... I'll post the model here :)
Mike.. your slider tutorial looks great... I had known that you did one but all I could find earlier was the one with the hand. :) I'll definatly work through this tonight aswell.

dont rebuild him, just cut and paste all his stuff to one layer, save it as guy2.lwo and load HIM into layout and see how your morphs behave.

Heh... 6 second divx (http://www.opnotic.com/wip/toyboy.avi)
It's cheese and has all the elements of a noob doing animation... but it's more or less what I told it to do. :)
