Just a few simple questions about referencing in maya:
I can create my skeleton rig in CharFile.mb and reference it in SceneFile.mb, animate the rig in SceneFile using controls/IKs etc from CharFile?
I can later, for instance, create another layer in CharFile.mb with objects parented to the rig (for a penetration check) and save it again as CharFile.mb. When i go back into SceneFile the anaiamted rig now has parented geometry that is on a seperate layer?
I can bring in/create, new, smooth geo in CharFile.mb and bind, paint weights, texture etc in that file and it wil be added to SceneFile and any other files which reference CharFile.mb without effecting their animations?
I preseume you can't change the actual rig itself in any way and hope to keep the animation?
.mb or .ma files needed?
Thanks all
