View Full Version : Yet another Graphics Card cry for HELP!

Hey Guys,

I know you're all boared with these VGA card posts, but I swear I looked arounded before posting this,

My request is, can you guys arrange these cards for me in order of overall performance?

*Nvidia Geforce FX 5700 Ultra
*Nvidia Geforce FX 5800
*Nvidia Geforce FX 5700 LE
*ATI Radeon 9700 Pro
*ATI Radeon 9700
*ATI Radeon 9800


I know that ATI tops Nvidia in almost every benchmark [for those cards I mean] but I also know that their drivers suck [nvidia also has some of driver issues I guess] and also that ATI doesn't perfrome well under OpenGL.

Speaking of OpenGL, I put the 5700 LE in this comparison because it's got OpenGL 1.5 while the 5700 Ultra is 1.4, and since I run 3dsmax on OpenGL I thought this might be something worth discussing....

Please note that I dont only want you to tell me which card is the best, I mostly want you to sort them in order of performance, like "1st, 2nd, 3rd......etc"

I know this is boring, but please bear with me..

This is just my approx. guess - it's late and I may be totally wrong.
From worst to best.

*Nvidia Geforce FX 5700 LE
*ATI Radeon 9700
*Nvidia Geforce FX 5700 Ultra
*ATI Radeon 9700 Pro
*Nvidia Geforce FX 5800
*ATI Radeon 9800

That's my guess. Something like that.
Just curious - but why do you want the order of which is best?

yea.. you should go for the card you like (ATI like you said), and look whether there are known issues with the software you are running. For example, there used to be problems with radeon-maya combinations (I don't have any though, radeon 9200) and decide upon that.
