View Full Version : How to save as max 5 from max 6?
Is there a way i can save my max 6 scene as a max 5 scene?

the only way is to export your meshes as .3DS files :D
I don't want to export i want to save it. So i get all vertex map, bone, etc... information to be used in max 5.
There have been a number of topics on this subject, but it's a bit difficult to find in the search.

You might be able to export to FBX and re-import that in 5. FBX supports bones and vertex weights etc. But other than that, BFF, 3ds or any of those formats, there's no built in way to save to older versions of max and there never has been. Sad (not to mention irritating) but true.
