i don't know whats up with your IE, but i do suggest you never use it again. :)

Give mozilla firefox a try. i don't think that there is a better browser in the world. Definately get the "tabbrowser exstensions" exstension. It makes surfing the net pure bliss

I wonder why so many people like Firefox when Opera is out there.

www.opera.com

It's the best browser on the planet. After comparing the two thoroughly for a long time, I easily came to the conclusion that Opera is superior.

Edit: Opera comes with everything you need. You don't have to download a bunch of extra junk, and it has more features than you can imagine. In fact, you'll probably turn most of them off, but they're all groovy.

I've always got about 10 tabs open, so everytime I load Opera it opens my same favorite pages. If I have a page that I want refreshed a lot, then I just set it to refresh at whatever interval I like. Mouse gestures are the quickest way to browse on the planet, and Opera loads pages REAL quick.

I wonder why so many people like Firefox when Opera is out there.

As a former Opera user, I got annoyed with Opera not being able to work properly with a very large number of websites.

It always seemed to have a problem with sites that used Java to call another page.

Opera is/was pretty cool, but after using Mozilla there is just no comparison. Mozilla is much more reliable and works with everything. And Mozilla has all the same types of bells and whistles Opera has.

Most people like Mozilla more than Opera because it is free. The newest Opera release is great, and I like its popup management...

However, none of this mozilla/opera discussion helps madone with his actual problem...

Madone, have you tried to uninstall all your pop-up blocking software and manage which programs load at startup?

To manage programs that load at startup, go to 'Run' in the start menu and type in 'msconfig'. Go to the startup tab and uncheck anything that you don't need. Do a search for the ones that you don't know...

When all else fails, you can always reinstall:):P
