View Full Version : Vehicle - Tau Devilfish

Here's a follow-up model of a Devilfish Troop Transport for my Mod-Campaign for Dawn of War (Which is in beta now, whee! You can still get in if you're a Fileplanet subscriber!). The model is currently at 3300 tris, 2000 tris for the main body and 1300 tris for the two Gun Drone models (The yellow things for those who are unfamiliar). I might go in and make lower poly Gun Drones specifically for this to lower the polycount. This took me about a complete day to build, and about 4 hours of it lost due to a crash (ARGH!!). Anyways, crits and comments please!

Nice, more then up to the quality of the rest of your work! If I may, I would suggest chamfering the one edge on the top-back, as it looks kind of sharp, and if my memory serves me (which it probably does not) it doesn't look exactly like that on the real model.. But other then that, I can't wait to see this blighter textured and animated!

Here's a quick update on the texture so far. Still a lot of work to go. The colors are still in work and the contrast and saturations will be worked on more, but any crits would be helpful :)

Looks great Triceron, but the texture is a lil too dark, and it should be lighter and a lil less saturated for tau, and btwm if you need any help just PM me here or wc3c (Andy) because Id love to help.

great work man, i'd just try to get that paneling to pop a bit more, the texture looks to flat

I wouls suggest a little less saturation to the main color, and more and darker camo.. But other then that, I think it looks great!

Sorry for the lack of updates, been busy rendering out other stuff. Anyways, here's the latest version of the Devilfish. I boosted the contrast a big, added highlights and details. I might add a bit more grit and flecks of paint on it as well as add a bit more lighting to some areas. Crits and Comments welcomed as always!

Arr, looks great! However, not even the Tau can keep vehicles in pristine condition through a campaign, so I would suggest scuffing it up a little, but other then that... I'm lovin' it!
