View Full Version : Deep Painting in small areas

I was wondering, with Deep Paint, if there is a way to get into small areas, such as the gums on a character inside the mouth. Or for like teeth, to get right up to the base of the gums, without accidently painting them. I am using 3d Max5. I was thinking of making a copy of my character, pulling things like the gums out of the mouth, painting them, then using Morpher and the extra copy to slap all the pieces back together.

Is there a way to hide parts of the model, or only bring in certain pieces of it into Deep Paint?

Thanks for any help

I would just detach that part of the model as a copy, then import the copy into DP3D, paint as you like, then apply the finished texture to the original model. Just make sure to use the same bitmaps as the whole.
