A sss shader is a Sub-Surface Scattering shader. What it does is approximate to a good degree what happens with photons hitting materials materials that are not fully solid in terms of light transmittance/reflectance - Milk, Skin/Flesh, Marble.
Go take a flashlight and light your hand from the back and watch what happens on the other side - thats SSS.
I can't tell you how your sss-shader works, since there's quite a few out there, and, well, I am sure the vendor supplied documentation in one form or another - if its a scientific study / open-source / what have you-shader, then you're presumed to have the background knowledge from your own research, if its not provided.
PS: I'm sure its probably great style somewhere, but could you loose the !!!! & the ?????'s ? I'm not saying it is the reason for your multitude of posts with no or little response - but presentation -does- matter if you want other people to do you a favor.
