Hi all, i wonder if you can help me with this one.
Here's the thing:
I have a scene with a plain as a light source, unseen by camera used with radiosity.
The main object is one with reflections, the problem is that the unseen light source is seen on the reflection of the main object, but when i turn on "unseen by lights", the light source is not seen by the radiosity.

Anyone got an idea?
thanks.

So, the unseen light source is a plane, an object? And it is reflecting on the main object but you don't want that because it should only be used as light souce for radiosity, is that it?

I don't know what you are talking about when you say 'unseen by lights', but what you should do is to select the plane-light-emitter-object, go to the properties and besides 'unseen by camera' check 'unseen by rays' as well. Like this it will not be seen in reflections.

Oops... i meant "unseen by lights"="unseen by Rays".

If i do this, the objects is no more effecting radiosity.

Oops, you're right (I had my plane luminosity very low so there was not much difference).

Well, you can try to render in two passes, one without reflections (or just the lighting) and then compose the reflections later. Use the render Buffer Export plugin (Render Buffer View to check it out and see if it's worth the trouble), export several images and compose later.

You can go in diverse ways:
You can change the plain for an area light and to activate the reflections without problems.
You can fake the illumination with spinning lights and to activate the reflections without problems.
You can bake the illumination in the textures and to activate the reflections without problems.
You can capture an image of the surrounding objects with Refgen of Ekki Halkka:

or Enviro of Worley Laboratories:

and to use it as Spherical map (Reflections disabled in the render panel) and to illuminate with the plain object without reflection problems. :)

Best Regards,

Gerardo
