Anyone know if they're back to a dongle, or still using CDilla?

If it's still CDilla, I probably won't upgrade. Max 4 invalidates its license every time I dual boot between Win2K and WinXP (I have some software that won't work on each OS).

I really want the dongle back.

looks like it'll have network licensing as well.

I know our Viz 4 came with 2 option - c-dilla and flexlm (like Maya). FlexLM only works for network installations, but you can trick it into installing on a single machine. There was no automatic licence request procedure for flexlm, we had to email autodesk. The license file is based on your license server's network card's mac address. I expect max 5 to use something similar.

i got my hands on a beta version of max 5 ... or i think it is.. and it was still using C-Dilla, but that might not be what they use for the final version. :)

i just like to say "dongle" :p

never had a problem with cdilla and max4, but i never dual booted, or had to deal with network installations. hopefully when my copy of max5 comes it'll have no problems.
