nice dude, I really like the 3rd one. One suggestion though, the 1st, 2nd and 4th sets could use a softer graidiant between the shades. I recomend takeing the unshaded image in photoshop.Use the burn tool and set the brush tip to #43, than turn the strength down to 20-30'ish and brush in the same direction as the hair strands. Oh ya, your oppacity maps are just right IMO. lets see some more dude

Awesome work!! Could u plz give a sneak view into your workflow ;). Cause hair is a problem that many have, including myself.
I am very interested in how u use the textures! How often is one texure reused (is it?) and so on. thx!

Oh boy, this is nice. Really like the second one. Come now, share the knowledge (maybe a mini tute? :p). So many people find hair daunting and difficult yet you've nailed it.

Would love to see some wires too, looks like they're bent poly planes alpha mapped?

thx LeeSalo, ill do that right now :)

Miguelito & SuperCat:

heres all the wires and sheets and maps. Im not the best at this stuff, the way i did it was what i thought would be best, never read a tut so im not sure if im doing it wrong or not :) but..it works eh?

My skinmap is basically just 1 big hair image, and then my alphas are around 3 strands of hair all looking different. This way all i had todo was map the co-ords of the hair, then if i put them on the hair skin all strait, it comes up strait on the model. then i just moved the uvs to which ever strand i wanted to vary it abit, and then sometimes flipped them around too so it was diff sides e.t.c. hope that explains? lol

so basically, Miguelito, the textures are reused everysingle time, could probs lower these down to 256x256 too.

Very nice work on this hair something that can be quite tough to do in RT displays. You have executed the technique very well.

Thats some of the coolest low poly hair iv seen in a while :D wish i had somthing lowpoly to show you but i do have this high(ish) poly model (the hair is quite low about 3000 ok not that low) i did it ages ago but it uses exactly the same style as u have used... only thing is you pulled it off better :P

Awesome stuff, Turk.

Would it be possible to talk you into some process shots for placing your strips of hair? I'm trying to do something similar right now, but the coverage never looks right, or I end up using way too many strips. Thanks in advance if you can help me out, and if not, well, thanks anyway. =)
