View Full Version : Distribute renders on Mac OS X?
creo496 07-26-2002, 04:01 PM Hello
I would like to know if anyone knows of software that allows you to queue and distribute renders on Mac OS X for maya. Something like Smedge maybe.
Thanks

Maya on mac comes with Dispatcher which is a distributed render manager. Just look in the render utilities chapter of the maya manuals.
Also there is rush http://www.3dsite.com/people/erco/rush/
Munster: http://www.vvertex.com/
I know there are a couple others out there but can't think of them right this second.

I started writing one and got some simple stuff working, like sending batches over the net via mel/appleScript. But then I got a new job and... if I find the time again I see about getting it into some kind of releasable shape.
It's kind of cool to pop a mac or too into a closet somewhere with an airport card for renders. Keeps the work area nice and quite without running wires all over the place.
