View Full Version : quick question about motion blur
what_happened 07-07-2004, 02:16 AM I have a scene where a camera is following an object.
Is it possible to NOT have the motion blue on the object of focus, but the surrounding environment have it? Or maybe even lower the blur on the object, and not the environment?
I would like to bring the object of the scene a bit more "in focus" so it's not lost in the environment.
Or do I have to render a second pass with only the object, with less blur and comp. it afterwords?
Thanks

parent the camera and object(s) to a null and use that to control their motion. If the object stays at a fixed distance from the camera it wont blur...

ObjBlur can make independent motion blur, is one of the plugs of a group of 29 plugins that comes in Polk Collections (Worley Laboratories):

render two pass is better solution, you can controll the amounth of blur in post pro application without a lot of test and render time wasted. and you decide directly how to compose and fix obj against background.
tip : reduce luminosity of background, human eys react first to luminosity difference, than to color and contrast, that help you to do more focus on obj.

There is an independent motion blur plug-in out there somewhere, at least there was in LW 5.6. I don't know what happened to it, maybe it was integrated into The app someplace dark and lonely. TB's Blur control might work, but it's kinda old...
