HI there

I haven't posted for a while on the forum so here go's. I'm working on a project doing an animation of a fluid being poured in to an object ie, a wierd shaped vase.

After much diliberation i decided fluid dynamics was the way to go to get the look i wanted. I am using a plugin called glu3d to generate my particles that form the liquid. For the most part it is doing what i want it to do, however i'm finding that when i want to increse the spead of how quick the fluid is being poured i begin to loose control and it begins splashing all over the place.

Has anyone used this plugin? or do they know of a way of speeding up the animation without effecting the way the particles interact with the object.

i haven't used glu3d for awhile but i'm pretty sure i recall there being some kind of step size (might not be called that) look in the ref, it will in undoubtedly slow down your calc times but will create a more stable sim

cheers

Hi there

I'm running a demo version of the software so the documentation is not very clear. Thanks anyway I'm still testing away at the moment.

cheers

im pretty sure its the step size too, I read a post on the glue3d forum thats similar. I would try the scouting over there, should be buckets of info.

Thanks i've been looking on the forum over at glu3d and have found out a few more tips.

I have the effect i'm after under a bit more control, however i still need the animation to happen quicker im going to bring the animation into after effects and speed it up in there. At the moment its taking 25 seconds to fill my vesel which is far too long for what i'm tring to achieve.

built in fluid dynamics in max wouldn't go a miss in the next release like maya's fluid dynamics:-)
