Can anyone explain to me how to do this

now this peticular image was done in Max but I want to to it in Maya I hate asking for help but I just cant fine a tut or anything or even some specs for a texture anybody know what Im rambling about ? ?

Also does anyone know some good attributes for a car material ? ?

Help on either of those questions would be greatly appreciated

Here you are. :D

3D Total tutorial - Brushed metal using Precedural Shaders (http://www.3dtotal.com/team/Tutorials/brushedmet/asberg_bmetal_01.asp)

You should be able to adapt it to Maya. If you can't use shaders. Then make a texture map (in Photoshop or something.) By adding noise and using motion blur on it. And applying the texture to the model. :D

p.s.Ton's of tutorials on Photoshop in the Photoshop forum. I'm sure theres alot of articles on brushed metal. :)
