View Full Version : Any training DVD's available?
innervision961 07-06-2004, 12:41 AM I've been searching and searching for training DVD's that deal with low poly, games modelling/mapping/rigging/animating but have yet to find what I'm looking for. Does anyone around here know of any, or can recommend any good training DVD's? They don't really have to be software specific as long as you think the methods show could translate easily to other programs. I am using 3DS Max by the way.
Basically I just want to watch different methods, and see how different people approach a character project differently. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
(I searched the forums before posting and still didn't turn up any results, if a similar thread already exists, please by all means, point me to it and delete this one if neccassary, thank you!)

You gotta sign up to their forums and hang out for a while and get a lame star before you can dl the videos though.... But they are really good imo.
If you wanna spend some money, you can go buy the dvd version of ut2k4, the second disk is a full dvd of nothing but some old 3dbuzz videos and a huge ammount of new ones they made just for ut2k4. While some are basically covering some coding and ut specific stuff, there are alot that go over char modelling (using maya ple, which comes with ut anyway) vehicle modelling weapons etc.
Then you can even stick what you make ingame and mess with it :)

Thanks for the replies guys, pearl3d: I was looking for more game oriented dvd's thanks for the links though, checking them out more thouroghly now.
Tryand: Yeah, thanks, known about buzz for a while, and i actually have the collectors edition of ut2k4, but the character modelling part of that is kinda...rushed, it seems. I'd like so more outlook on how other people work, i'm just an information whore I guess :)

Yeah some of the vids are a bit rushed, but seeing someone else do it helps alot if you already know your way around a program.
