Hi,
This was a concept picture I did a little while ago in Photoshop 7.
Let me know what you think.

Your work is interesting, but it lacks depth (more work  )

I think you should expand the roots od the tree, and add some drapery, some other colour perhaps.

keep on working ;)

I like the piece but I agree about the depth thing. I like the colours, I reckon that you've really created the sense of mysticism with the snow and the lack of a more diverse pallette.

I reckon this piece needs a tiny bit more feeling in it, maybe something to illustrate the coldness of the climate, maybe snowflakes coming from the right hand side to tie in with the swaying thing at the end of his staff. Also maybe have another look at the positioning of the tree and druid in the picture. A little bit more down and to the right would allow so much more depth into the picture with the larger expanse of white then created on the left and depth can be added to the pic by hinting at more trees receding into the background.

All in all, I really love your style and would like to maybe see a bit of a stage by stage turorial on how you created the colour pallete in the piece and how you painted it. Your use of light and the way you've made the piece "feel" is inspirational.

Thanks for the comments.
I see your point about the lack of depth. I will have to get back into it and resolve those issues. Something in the background to force the perspective, I reckon.

wow...I see what you're trying to do...I totally feel it...

If I were you, I wouldn't obsess too much detail onto this piece. The reason being, that this style is meant to commmunicate the ambience and essence of the scene, and not too much detail at all..

Instead of putting too much detail onto this one, do some more similar ones that complete the story...

I really like this style...I would love to work with you one day...
